LOFAR4SW Science Requirements Workshop

Observatoire de Paris, Meudon, 2018 May 2-4

The aim of the workshop is to gather community-wide inputs in the use of LOFAR technology for future dedicated space-weather science, monitoring, and forecasting capabilities so as to set clear science requirements on the design study. The outcome of the workshop will be a list of ipotential science use cases, and the desired system characteristics of an upgraded LOFAR4SW system capable of a varied set of 24/7 space-weather observations covering Sun to ionosphere, as well as other related areas of relevance.

Location

The workshop will take place at the Meudon site of the Paris Observatory, in the conference room of the historic building of the Meudon Observatory (see “Le chateau/the castle” )

The usual pedestrian entrance is located at: Place Jules Janssen, 92195 Meudon Cedex, France

One shall enter through the large grid in the public garden and IMMEDIATELY turn right toward the entrance proper of the Observatory where a small guardhouse is located.

However, for those staying at hotel Ermitage the pedestrian entrance will be the usual car entrance.

Lunch

Lunch for the participants of the workshop will be freely provided to each participant by the meeting organisers, in the cafeteria of the Meudon Observatory.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will take place on Thursday May, 3 at 19h30 at the River Café in Issy les Moulineaux (link http://rivercafe.fr/)

A bus will be organized from the observatory to the restaurant and then from the restaurant to the Best Western hotel Paris-Meudon-Ermitage.
